What a Weekend!
So I had a pretty busy weekend...having driven from Missoula to Whitetail and back again. A 1,000 mile roundtrip in 36 hours, but it was great to be back in Daniels County, the birthplace of my family in Montana and announce my candidacy for Congress as a Democrat.
Even though it was a long weekend and I just got home moments ago, I have never felt more energized in my life. I am incredibly excited for the journey ahead, and I hope that you can join me on this journey. I can't wait to meet you and hear your ideas for Montana in person and on this blog.

My name is Karen Schaefer and Ed Scharnatta was my great uncle. His sister, Mary Rubin, was my maternal grandmother. I grew up on the farmhouse one mile north of Whitetail and I can remember Uncle Ed bringing his fiddle to the farm and the two of us would play duets - me on the piano. My mother, Gladys Ware, is almost 92 and lives in her own apartment here in Scobey. My husband and I are retired and have lived in Scobey since 1964. So your grandmother and my mom are first cousins. That must make us fourth cousins or so, huh? It was fun reading the article about you in our local newspaper and watching your video. Good luck with your campaign - you're even running on the right ticket - ha! Mom and I visit the cemetery in Flaxville every Memorial day and often put flowers on Uncle Ed's grave.

JUST WHAT WE NEED IS ANOTHER DEMOCRATIC LAWYER RUNNING FOR OFFICE. LOOK WHAT THIS SOCIALIST PRESIDENT( DEMOCRATIC LAYWER)AND CONGRESS HAS DONE ALREADY. SPENT MORE MONEY IN 100 DAYS THAN ALL THE PRESIDENTS BEFORE HIM COMBINED.CLEAN ENGERY SHOULD NOT BE FUNDED BY TAXPAYERS, BUT LEFT TO PRIVATE INVESTORS. WHEN CLEAN ENGERY CAN MAKE MONEY THEN IT WILL GROW LIKE WILDFIRE. WE HAVE TO STOP BIG GOVERMENT AND IT SPENDING. YOU SAY YOU WANT CHANGE BUT YOU JOIN A PARTY(DEMOCRATS) THAT WILL SPEND EVERY LAST DOLLAR AND THEN SOME(3 TRILLION PLUS). BE A CONSERATIVE,TAKE AMERICA BACK FROM THIS NEW SOCIALISM.REMEMBER OUR FOREFATHER'S THOUGHTS OF BIG GOVERMENT. A VERY SMALL GOVERMENT FOR THE PEOPLE AND PERSONAL RIGHTS LIBERTY AS THE LARGER PART IN LIFE. REMEMBER THIS TOO, WHEN THE PARICITES OUT NUMBER THE HOST, THE HOST MUST LEAVE OR IT WILL DIE.
